葫芦(hu lu) gourds symbolize good luck in Chinese cultures. These glass variants are inspired by the natural gourds, which are given a crease by tying string  around them while they grow.
 
The upside down 副 means luck will arrive, as "arrive" and "upside down" are homonyms in Chinese.
 
Ethan's Hu Lus are each etched with the Chinese symbol, 福 (fu) which means good luck, and come tied with a red knot tassel, also asscociated with good luck. They malke excelent Chinese New Year gifts!
 
They are a transparent gold-brown color, about 3 inches in diameter,  around 5 inches tall, and made of 2 blown gathers. They can be be hung or sit on a flat surface.
